I am Doctor of Wildlife Science, graduated at the Agriculture & Forestry University of Florence (Italy), and I followed related courses of the Universities of Udine and Padua. Among my proudest experiences I can count the participation in the 'Small Islands Project (PPI)' (Ponza Island) and in the 'Alps Project (PA)' (Mount Pizzoc), along with my internship at the Miyajima-numa Waterbird and Wetland Center (Bibai, Japan).
Loved and hated...
Reproduction and observation in laboratory of some microorganisms, including molds (Penicillium), cyanobacteria (Nostoc, Cyanothece), yeasts (Kloeckera, Saccharomyces), unicellular algae (Tetraselmis) and bacteria.

Monitoring the spring migration of birds arriving in Europe from Africa or Middle East via the Mediterranean Sea: that is the 'Small Islands Project (PPI)', mainly focused on passerines.

Participation in the 'Alps Project (PA)', a research program coordinated by ISPRA (Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) and MUSE (Trento Museum of Science) which monitors the autumn migration of European birds.

My Japanese chronicles continue, this time in company with Japanese tree frogs (Dryophytes japonicus) of Miyajima-numa, threatened by alien species from the island of Honshū: dark-spotted frog (Pelophylax nigromaculatus) and Eastern Japanese common toad (Bufo japonicus formosus).
